Digitalization is reaching into every aspect of today’s world—and building design and operation are no exception. Today’s leaders—from building owners and operators to design and engineering firms—realize that their sites are much more than just a place to conduct and drive business or house assets. They need to be smarter in order to meet sustainability and energy efficiency mandates, maintain or improve their “green” image and corporate social responsibility, and build greater resiliency. Digitalization supports the goal of such leaders—to create the perfect place for their people to work, to heal, to learn, and to succeed.
What’s new in the app?
V2.0 of the Building technology app now includes: updated data privacy information; updated materials in the Total Energy Management section; and new Digital Applications/IoT content under the Smart Buildings section of the app to educate end users on how the Enlighted IOT platform—together with Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s building technologies—improve operational efficiency and occupant experience for top-line business growth and added savings.
About the app
The Siemens Building technology app provides an interactive and engaging experience with actionable information to help building owners, facility managers, contractors and architects make better decisions. This helps them achieve their objectives to become smarter, more efficient and provide more sustainable buildings.
Sleek navigation, and 3-D modeling and animation are just a few of the features in the BT app. Real-time sharing capability (with the support of an Internet connection) allows users to share a link to a specific page of the app, or send information of interest via email to colleagues or peers.
Users can navigate to specific areas of interest within the app, including commercial buildings and data centers. In addition to the data center and commercial vertical sections, the Building technology app also includes high-level overviews, results, assets and sharing capabilities for seven additional vertical markets including: higher education, healthcare, life science, oil, gas and petrochemical, Federal government, K-12 schools, and state & local government.
SMART BUILDINGS APP EXPERIENCE OVERVIEW
Failing to invest in smart building technologies comes with a cost. It’s a choice between a building that is a drag on an organization and one that further enables its mission and long-term strategy.
The smart buildings app experience provides insights and best practices around what digital strategies and technologies you can adopt that leverage data to increase the productivity, performance, savings and adaptability of your building. Data-driven solutions and services for a building’s entire lifecycle can help facility owners and managers collect the right data and apply it properly to capitalize on their investments and reach their organizational goals. Learn how applying a complete digital services approach to your building—including analytics-, monitoring- and remote-services—can help you reach new levels of performance.
COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS APP EXPERIENCE OVERVIEW
A user will be prompted to explore a 3-D representation of a commercial building. Touch points on the commercial building scene will allow a user to learn about fire control, building automation, security and other areas critical to ensure energy-efficient, safe and secure buildings and infrastructure.
Users will be able to experience a personalized view inside a commercial building by prompting the user to enter data about their specific situation. This data may be used to visualize the business or environmental impact of adapting fire controls, building automation, security or more. Such users include building owners, facility managers, contractors and architects.
DATA CENTERS APP EXPERIENCE OVERVIEW
The data center interactive experience provides an overview of today’s top market segments within data centers, and provides a targeted experience. A 3-D tour of the VelociRack™ integrated rack offering animates its full details and capabilities—from fixed security cameras to the patented horizontal drawers that contain high-density automation points, and more.
